The Margaret A. Patrick & W. Don Welch International Trade Scholarships

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
Each year, the S.C. International Trade Conference presents scholarships to students in memory of Mrs. Margaret A. Patrick, who was instrumental in the development of the Trade Conference and its outstanding support of transportation education, and in memory of W. Don Welch, the former executive director of the South Carolina State Ports Authority. In 2019, seven scholarships were awarded, ranging from $1,500 to $2,500.
An applicant must be a currently enrolled at a college or university with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA. Applicants must also be either: (1) a S.C. resident attending any college or university (2) attending any South Carolina college or university regardless of residency (3) major study as International Trade, Supply Chain Management or Business Degree.
The selection and ranking criteria, in order of importance, are:

- Proven interest or experience in International Trade, Supply Chain Management or Business related area, to include work or volunteer experience;
- Current academic standing and performance (must be a rising junior or senior with a minimum overall GPA)
- Narrative and letter of recommendation; and
- Honors and extracurricular activities.

The Joy Latta Scholarship for Technical Colleges & Trade Schools

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
Commencing in 2020, the SC International trade Conference will present a scholarship in honor of Joy Latta, who has served on the Trade Conference Board of Directors for 23 years. Joy will soon be retiring after serving as the Demand Process and Logistics Manager at SELEE Corporation for nearly 33 years in Hendersonville, North Carolina. The Joy Latta Scholarship will dedicate funds to those students pursuing education and skills from technical colleges and trade schools.
An applicant must be currently enrolled in an accredited South Carolina Trade or Technical School with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA. In addition, applicants must also be: (1) a South Carolina resident attending any trade school or technical college, or (2) attending any South Carolina trade school or technical college regardless of residency, and (3) focus of study in International Trade, Supply Chain Management or relevant skilled trade.

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

Wamboldt, who was instrumental in helping the growth of international manufacturing in South Carolina. Harry served on many non-profit boards in the low country as well as statewide. In 2019, three scholarships for $1,000 - $1,500 each were awarded to three outstanding high school seniors.
An applicant must be a 2021 graduating high school senior with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA in high school. In addition, applicants must also be: (1) a South Carolina resident (2) planning to attend an accredited college or university to study Business, International Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Engineering or Science.
